The destruction of the wind

This mid-size evergreen tree was blown over by the wind but it didn't break - the trunk bent to a 90 degree angle.  Odd!
The wind is powerful.  We've not had a tree come down yet in our yard, but here's some wind damage.  I don't know exactly when this damage happened.  Our winter has been very mild this year (happy!) but in its place there's been some doozy storms.  WoodTV reported a 70 mile an hour wind gust measured at the Ford Airport near my house on February 19, 2016.  Straight line winds I guess.

Portobella Mushroom Burgers

I like try to eat healthy on occasion.  So I came across a recipe for Portobella Mushroom Burgers and decided to give it a try.  Bought 3 of them - thankfully I only spent wasted about $3.50 on these.

Marinade:
Soy Sauce (I used lower sodium)
Balsamic Vinegar (love that stuff)
Montreal Steak Seasoning (to trick the mushroom into thinking it's steak)

Mix the above ingredients and soak the mushrooms in that for about 1 hour.

Then, fire up the grill.  The mushrooms take about 15 minutes to cook on direct medium heat.  If you've cooked mushrooms before, or sauteed them in a pan, you know they release water after cooking for a few minutes.

And that's one of my complaints about this 'burger'.  They seemed watery and made the hamburger bun mushy.

My husband said, "Um, you're a good cook, but let's not make these again, ok?" Grin.

Next time I try and make a healthy burger, I'll just make a black bean burger.  LOVE THOSE!  I've linked to the Morningstar Spicy Black Bean Burger.  I don't really like spicy foods, and these have just a little kick (more like a nudge) to them.  They are easy to store in the freezer and pull out for a quick meal.  And I feel like I'm being good to the environment and myself.  The downside (big downside) is they have artificial ingredients.  Not cool!  So I'll have to try making them myself.  In my next life.
